Subject: RE: Looking for celtic musicians in Tampa From: Roger in Sheffield Date: 18 May 02 - 09:20 AM Wish you had said a month ago chris I spent quite a few nights staying at a wonderful place called Gram's Place and was aching to go and find some irish/celtic music I noticed at least one irish bar in Ybor and wondered if there was any music there? I didn't find any live music - though to be honest I didn't look - I was to busy enjoying the wonderful food at various places in the evening Then relaxing back at the B&B where there is a large choice of music to listen to into the night while cooling your feet in the jacuzzi If I get back again it would be useful to know where sessions take place.

Subject: RE: Looking for celtic musicians in Tampa From: harpgirl Date: 17 May 02 - 06:39 PM Most of the irish sessions are in Tallahassee, I think. We have a weekly session, and two monthly ones. But with the Irish pubs in the Tampa area, I'm sure you can find one there. Doesn't Rod McDonald know about them? |

Subject: RE: Looking for celtic musicians in Tampa From: GUEST,sharong Date: 17 May 02 - 01:57 PM Hi Chris I don't have any suggestions for you, but here are greetings from Arizona anyway. hope you find some folks to play with- I know there are a few. You might also check the sessioneer website and see if there are any other Florida sessions listed there, which could lead to meeting other musicians.... Subject: RE: Looking for celtic musicians in Tampa From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca Date: 16 May 02 - 07:53 PM Send a Personal Message to Abby Sale. I believe he's in Florida. He's here once in a while, as well as on the newsgroups. He's bemoaned the scarcity of Celtic musicians out there in Florida. |

Subject: RE: Looking for celtic musicians in Tampa From: Wesley S Date: 16 May 02 - 04:15 PM I thought I heard about some sessions in Clearwater too. Try the www.foff.org that was suggested. And watch out for the humidity. It's slightly higher than in Arizona. |

Subject: Looking for celtic musicians in Tampa From: GUEST,Chris Date: 15 May 02 - 05:00 PM Hi there.. I'm looking for celtic musicians to play with out in the Tampa FL. area. I was in a celi band from Arizona called One Eyed Fiona for 7 years and unfortunatley my wife got a job out in FL. and I had to leave my band and mates behind :( . I play guitar, harmonica and sing. I have been able to find one sessiun out here, but it is only once a month at a pub called Annie Moore's. Its a good time, but I'm really used to playing out 3 to 5 times a week, so I'm really having musician withdrawl. Any leads or info would be greatly appreciated. You can check our music at www.oneeyedfiona.com. Cheers Chris |
