Here's today's announcement about the event from the university daily email called "UTA Today."

TEXAS SCOTTISH FESTIVAL TO RETURN TO UTA IN JUNE
The Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games, one of the largest Scottish festivals in the nation, is expected to draw more than 60,000 attendees from around the world. The festival, which has been at UTA since 1990, will be June 7-9 at Maverick Stadium. For more information, go to the Web site at http://www.texasscottishfestival.com.

Jed, yes, the weather has been atypically gorgeous. I think in past years I've seen a lot of awnings go up out there. I'm glad to see a good review of the event so I'll plan to attend. Do many mudcatters attend this event? Any way to discover if others are attending? Some secret handshake or lapel pin available?

This is a GREAT festival. I am not involved this year. They will have Brain McNeill, Ed Miller and lots of great music. They also have a lot of other good stuff; shepherding dog demos, highland games, some good clan exibits, and good vendors. This is a pretty classy event! I hope to make it for a one of the days, but I'm working elsewhere on the weekend nights - so don;t know if I can, yet.

... and "toasty" well I suppose you're right. It is likely going to be quite hot, but we've been having some absolutely beautiful weather this week - maybe it'll hold!

I should add that by June it is known to get a bit toasty out here, but it's still a lot better (usually) than July and August. (It's a wet heat!)

I work in Arlington, and spotted the promotion for the Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games, June 7 - 9. The web site is http://www.texasscottishfestival.com/.

Any Mudcatters involved with this? I did a quick search of the Mudcat site and don't find previous mention of it, though it looks like a natural, so I probably didn't plug in the correct search terms.

Maggie
