Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Seeking Blues lyrics for kids From: Genie Date: 22 May 02 - 02:18 PM Well, it's not ABOUT kids, but I'm sure a lot of them would appreciate OVERFLOWIN' CATBOX BLUES For younger kids, there's always "Overflowin' Diaper Blues," of course. Genie |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Seeking Blues lyrics for kids From: Dani Date: 22 May 02 - 08:45 AM I've always thought that Elizabeth Cotten's "One Old Woman" was blues for a child, though she didn't quite play it that way. Know the song I'm talking about? I can post the lyrics/story if you want. Sidenote: I'm going to hear her granddaughter play some of her music tonight, along with a group sing with some of our other local old-time African American blues and traditional singers. Yay! Dani

Subject: Seeking Blues lyrics for kids From: GUEST,love2singjazz@hotmail.com Date: 21 May 02 - 06:37 PM I teach a jazz and blues component with a non profit agency to k-8 graders and am seeking blues lyrics for kids. I make up some, and have the kids do this, but are there already some established or fun ones out there? Carolyn Tidwell love2singjazz@hotmailcom |
