The "Falcon hath borne my make away" version of the Corpus Christi carol was popularised in Britain by the Yetties (who perform it with a bowed psaltery accompaniment).

The version I remember was the title track on an album ("All Bells in Paradise") released in the late 1960s by the Valley Folk (one of whose 4 members was Steve Heap, who now runs Mrs Casey Music, and Sidmouth and Towersey Festivals). In addition to the verses given on the thread Joe has just linked to above, I think there was one (after the "river" verse on the lines of "At the bed's foot there lies a hound
Drinking the blood as it daily runs down"

Sylv, can you give us more information on "Bells of Paradise"? We have a song in the Digital Tradition, Corpus Christi Carol (click) that may be the one you're referring to. It's also known as "Down in Yon Forest" - check the Down in Yon Forest thread (click)

We got a request for information on the origins of various songs, including "Bells of Paradise." I found a couple of references to this song in the Forum, but no lyrics. I gather that it's a Christmas carol. Can anybody post lyrics and give us background information?
