Mark Cohen posted the lyrics back in an old thread called BS: Wounded Knee Anniversary.

It was written by Bill Gallaher and can be found on Bok's latest CD "Dear to Our Island"

I have it on a Gordon Bok cd. The line that grabs me is: ..into the coolies they ran to hide, their dreams were washed away, and their spirit died...it ties my innards into knots.

The song you're looking for might be by Bill Gallaher © 1995, from his The Last Battle CD BGM 1002 or maybe one by James Keelahan.

Hello all,

Saturday Nite someone from Canada sang a song about the Metis uprising and Louis Riel. A line similar to..."If we don't do this now we never will"... is in the song.

A beautiful song and an elegant chorus.

Of course I remember none of it. The author and latest recording were mentioned. Anyone catch the name of the song and the author?

Don
