"The house I live in, my neighbours white and black/The people who just came here or from generations back/The town hall and the soap box, the torch of liberty/A home for all God's children, that's America to me."

From the LP "Spirituals: A Robeson Recital of Popular Favorites", Columbia ML 4105 from ?early 60's?

In the latest issue of the Nation, Aug. 5/12, 2002, there's a letter from Ivy Meeropol in which she mentions an extra verse to "The House I Live In", that begins: "The House I Live In / My Neighbors White and Black..." Ms. Meeropol believes "only Paul Robeson's recording includes those lines".

Well, it doesn't. At least, my CD, "Ballad for Americans" has Paul Robeson singing that song, and that verse isn't there.

So I'm trying to locate the lyrics to that verse of "The House I Live In". Any ideas or sources you can suggest would be most welcome.

Thanks very much!
