Subject: RE: Radical Folk Songs From: GUEST,thubbard@pcmagic.net Date: 23 Jul 02 - 04:01 PM In the latest issue of the Nation, Aug. 5/12, 2002, there's a letter from Ivy Meeropol in which she mentions an extra verse to "The House I Live In", that begins: "The House I Live In / My Neighbors White and Black..." Ms. Meeropol believes "only Paul Robeson's recording includes those lines". Well, it doesn't. At least, my CD, "Ballad for Americans" has Paul Robeson singing that song, and that verse isn't there. So I'm trying to locate the lyrics to that verse of "The House I Live In". Any ideas or sources you can suggest would be most welcome. Thanks very much! Tom Hubbard Pasadena, California |
