Many years a-go on_a trim built craft a sail-or sail'd to sea,
His nose was red, his hat too large to fit Miss Nan-cy Lee.
the wind blew high and he_felt dry, for the skipper has stole the grog
And_he lost his por-ous plas-ter as_the ship got lost in a fog.

Chorus:The Cap-tain's name was O-Rei-ley, with a big glass eye
and the wind blew thro' his whis-kers as the clouds roll'd by.
Hil-ly, hol-ly ho was the first mate's cry,
as the good ship Mary Jane left A-mer-i-ca

The mate he stuck his whis-kers on with half a pint of glue,
And_the cook he boil'd the stew-ard's hat to make an I-rish stew.
The boat-swain piped all hands on deck to smoke a t. d. pipe
And_the cap-tain choked the cabin boy With a piece of cold raw tripe.

The crew were_a lot of hun-gry dogs, they swal-low'd all they could,
