5. DÚN AN ÓIR (FORT DEL ORO): This narrow headland was fortified by troops from Spain, Italy and Ireland against the forces of Elizabeth the first in 1580. On surrendering to the English commander, Lord Grey, the whole garrison was put to the sword. In State care.

I couldn't find any clues and the phrases quoted are so common as to be worthless with a net search. Any other ideas?

Hi, I'm looking for the words of a poem of the above mentioned name.The following are the first few lines:

The evening sun had sunk to rest Below the western sea, The red October.................... On grass and gorse and sea, No other sound disturbed the hush Along the wave washed shore.................
