Subject: RE: BS: Newspapers of the world online site From: sian, west wales Date: 10 Sep 02 - 09:16 AM Well, Brian ... that certainly sent me skittering to check! I hadn't actually looked at 'Europe' but on closer examination, kat's link mentions only England from what I see (no Wales, but also no Scotlan & N Ireland?) Strictly speaking, listing NWales Newspapers under England might have some element of truth about it - seems that I remember the group's head office being somewhere like Chester or thereabouts ... sian |

Subject: RE: BS: Newspapers of the world online site From: Brian Hoskin Date: 10 Sep 02 - 08:29 AM I'm surprised Sian didn't comment on the anomaly of having the Welsh newspapers listed under England. |

Subject: RE: BS: Newspapers of the world online site From: sian, west wales Date: 10 Sep 02 - 07:44 AM You're so right, kat. I check the Canadian press daily (online) just to get a different slant on what the Blair Bush Project is cooking up. Just today, I've added Australia and New Zealand to my reading. Wish my French was better so that I could extend my horizons further. OK - all national papers are going to see their homeland as the centre of the universe, but at least I can build up a broader picture of ... hmmm ... maybe 'reality' isn't the right word. But you get my drift. Thanks for all links above. sian, west wales |

Subject: RE: BS: Newspapers of the world online site From: Hrothgar Date: 10 Sep 02 - 05:28 AM None of the Murdoch group's Australian papers. I think one has to pay to get bits out of them. Can't add this to my favourites - can anyone tell me why not? |

We live near Maidenhead, Berkshire, UK and the Advertiser is our local paper (and a very good one too! And as for the name of our town - don't worry about the jokes - we've heard them all before! |
