Subject: RE: LA Coffeehouse Hit in Flood From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 27 Sep 02 - 07:40 PM Tropical Storm Hanna, that hit South Alabama two weeks ago, took the roof off of a marina restaurant that has been a regular venue for area musicians for years. A bunch of us pickers from Northwest Florida and Southeast Alabama are getting together Saturday night to do a benefit to help them raise money for repairs. The only good thing about hurricanes is the way people pull together to help each other out in the aftermath. Bruce |

Subject: LA Coffeehouse Hit in Flood From: wysiwyg Date: 27 Sep 02 - 06:39 PM From a mail list I belong to: The Java Grotto coffeehouse has been a rare spot on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Mandeville, Louisiana, friendly to touring folksingers. The flood this week apparently destroyed the business, and a dramatic photo of co-owner/manager Kaia Kusiw in the floodwaters went out yesterday on the AP newswire. CLICK HERE FOR PHOTO ~Susan |
