Meet me tonight in the cowshed
After the cows come home
For though it is only a cowshed
To me it is home sweet home.

Coyote Breath: Do you happen to know who wrote and/or recorded the parody you posted? And does it have a title?

Only thing is that the Prisoner Song is a collection of bits from other songs--anyone know of any earlier works with these particular lines?

Well, yes Vernon Dalhart and there is a "parody" which is a moonshining song;

I am sure that those lawmen don't like me
They have drove me away from my still
And of course I had to leave there running
Through the wildwood and over the hill.

Chorus:
And its meet me tonight old pal meet me
Meet me out in the moon light alone
For I have ten gallons of good whiskey
Must be sold by the light of the moon

Chorus:

Well I know that the lawmen don't love me
They have drove me from my cabin door
If I had my time to do over
I would still ten thousand gallons or more.

Chorus:

If I knew when those lawmen were coming
I could be standing in my cabin door
With my pockets full of steel jackets
And my Colt ivory handled forty-four.

Chorus
