Irish Abroad Website
I found the Irish Abroad when i was looking for a pub I know in Los Christianos/Las Americas. I dont know how good Luke Kellys is.
Some of the entries are quite old. The new owner of the pub I know did not know he was already listed there. Hope the above helps

Kenny, I got a "link cannot be found" message when I tried your blicky. Can you confirm the URL, please?   A good Irish pub on Cyprus would be an invaluable resource!

Irish Pubs Worldwide
This is a usefull site for finding Irish? Pubs
There is a "Luke Kelly" pub listed in Ayia Napa
Irish pubs listed are not neccessarily run by Irish people but do provide "Irish" music
Hope this is useful

Work permit info from the Republic of cyprus' Web site:
If you are not a holder of a Cypriot passport, you will need a work permit in order to work in Cyprus.

The present policy regarding foreign nationals who wish to take up employment in Cyprus is that an employment permit is granted only on a temporary basis and for a specified position provided that no suitably qualified Cypriot citizens are available. Please note that this action must take place while foreign nationals are outside Cyprus, (except in cases of EU nationals).

Foreign national seeking employment in Cyprus must secure through personal efforts a local employer who should submit an application to the Migration Officer, Ministry of Interior, Lefkosia (Nicosia) (see address below), which is the competent authority for the issue of such permits. The Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance acts as an advisor to the Migration Officer as regards the situation in the labour market and the compliance by the above-mentioned employer of the criteria governing the employment of aliens.

Manpower recruitment is made directly by the employers or through intermediaries, therefore you have to make your own direct contacts with interested employers, intermediaries or employers' organisations.

Hey guys,

im planning on going over to Cyprus next summer and working throughout the holiday season. But i read somewhere that i might have to get a working visa of some sort. But the article i read was so complicated you would nearly need a degree in law to make any sort of sense out of it. Can someone please enlighten me??

Much obliged,

Regards,
