I did not find a tune called Men at Work, but apparently they are a band. Will look for Cunning Workmen, thanks!

Sorcha-

There's a tune called "The Cunning Workmen"

Ossian: Dove Across the Water (Iona Records IR004, 1982)
Side One: March - The Cunning Workmen (Cuffe)

Billy Jackson (harp, Uillean Pipes, whistle, double bass vocals), George Jackson (guitar, fiddle, whistle, vocals), John Martin (fiddle, cello, vocals), Tony Cuffe (vocals, guitar, tenor guitar, tiple) Iain MacDonald (pipes, vocals, flute, whistle, jew's harp)

Just a guess,

Richie

Talked to the friend today, and he said the name was not as long as the Aly Bain tune, and it is definitely E Dorian; standard 16 bar tune.

My turn to fail badly to supply it.

The answer should prove interesting however.

OK, my turn to ask for help, please. A friend heard a fiddle tune that had "workman" in the title.......either E minor or E dorian; said it would be nice with Road to Lisdoonvarna and Swallowtail Jig.

Seems Aly Bain does one called Shack's Farewell to the Workman's Club but I can't find it anywhere (except on CD's). Does anyone know this tune, and could that be the one I am looking for? If not, does anyone have any other clues as to what I am actually looking for? Thanks!
