okay Rick, I was at your workshop of the same name at the FSGW. I really enjoyed it, but since I didn't have guitar in hand I remember the theory, but not much in the way of details. Would you be so kind as to answer a few questions for me?

I do recall that you were using Am as a barre at the fifth fret, and used the D formation all over the neck for major chords. Were there any other formations that you suggested?
Also, why finger the Am as a xxx555 rather than a 210, where it is inverted? Or is the inversion the point of doing it there?

Is there something about staying way up the fingerboard that is desirous rather than playing in the same octave as the other guitar? For example, would I be better off play a C as 988 instead of, say, 553. Or is it more really a matter of what is easiest to get into and out of based on the surrounding chords?

I'm going to be visiting some friends this weekend and may very well have the opportunity to put some of your lesson into practice. Given how simple you made it seem, I think I might actually be able to pull it off and appear to have made leaps and bounds in my abilities since that last time I got together with them. So any additional advice you can spare me would be greatly appreciated.
