The "Duece Coupe" IS the '32 Ford Two door coupe. The "duece" is the "two" as in "32". It was the car of cars fir its day. It was a departure from the A and T Models and was the first year of the Ford flathead V-8 engine so it coule really scoot fir it's day.

Now that's the REAL story.

Great picture, John! I remember my parents calling the jump seat, the "rumble seat."

I thought maybe this was going to be a new Mudcat Story thread, like the old Juke Joint one.:-)

Deuce Coupe

Depends a little on your era. In my day (50s) the term was generally reserved for something like shown at the "clicky." Chopped to lower the roof line. Channeled to reduce ground clearance. As big an engine as you could "shoe-horn" in. Lots of chrome. And absolutely necessary - a "flash" paint job.

In earlier times, the term was more generically used for any "two-seater," although frequently with the "mother-in-law" jump-seat in the rear.

In both times, the connotation is "babe bait."

What's a little deuce coupe? I know what a coupe is, I know what little is, but what's the 'deuce'? Does it mean a two-seater, by any chance?
