Subject: Ian S on Mike Harding show From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 02 Dec 02 - 10:10 AM Next week's BBC Mike Harding show has the annual Young Folk Awards and our own Ian Stephenson is mentioned: The BBC Young Folk Award 2002 Final will take place at the Union Chapel in Islington, London on Friday 6th December. Tickets are free and are available in three ways: by phoning BBC Audience Services on 0208 576 1227 (leave a message if outside office hours); by emailing radio.ticket.unit@bbc.co.uk or by booking online. Highlights from the Final will be broadcast on the Mike Harding Show on Wednesday 11th December. Ian Stephenson and Sarah Hayes: Ian, from Yorkshire and Sarah, from Northumberland, are both seasoned YFA semi-finalists: singer/flautist Sarah has twice been a finalist and guitarist Ian plays with the band 422 who won the competition in 1999. Ian is now a student on the Folk and Traditional Music degree at Newcastle University and they both play regularly at festivals across the country. They have been together as a duo for only a month.
