26 years of special event history, with its ups and downs, finally coming to a crunching stop; my father played a major role as co-director in the beginning years. I'm sad that the Festival committee couldn't keep the Festival going but it did have a long and mostly glorious run, and maybe some group will reorganize a new effort. Or maybe they can focus that energy to improving the highly successful National Folk Festival which has another 2 years to run in Bangor, and reinforce its Maine content.
