Congratulations on making the 1000 Moonman. Out of interest I looked up my own count (a more modest 725) but found that my earliest post, a question regarding the origins of a Manuel Rodriguez guitar, is not there. I wonder if the list of previous posts are complete?

Dear Friends,

Well this is my 1000th post as mooman (although I probably put in a good 500-600 before that as mcmoo before herself made away with my cookie!).

I know this is just a small drop in the ocean compared with some prolific posters like 'Spaw and Kat but, somehow, it seems "special" somehow and makes me feel not so much of a "newbie"! I hope I have occasionally been able to sometimes contribute something of value.

It also gives me the opportunity to thank Max, Joe, Jeff and the team for creating and maintaining this place and allowing the freedom of expression that has always characterized the 'Cat (taking into account the deletion of personal attack posts, an action I support fully). Over the few years I've been a member here I've seen a few ups and downs, winced at a number of spats, laughed and marvelled at some amazing writing (e.g. the Drumcree threads), host a "Gathering", learned a lot not just about music but about almost everything and, best of all, made some marvellous friends...many of whom I've had the pleasure to meet in real life. I hope to meet many more in due course including friends on the "other" side of the pond and further afield.
