Indeed they are, Annie. Hope they come again!! Incidentally, I don't recall you singing much...was that misdirection on my part? If so, smacked wrists and extra songs for you next month ;-)

As for Kelly...hmmmm. Oh go on then.

heloo, i was going to go but, i fell asleep.john PS i just phoned theresa at tap and spile to see if there is any sesshion there or any band, she said no, i left work early as we were quiet, i wish there was a session in hull on sunday night, but all them bloody beberley people are taking over, and i cant drive there as i habe had a few bears, and txis are a big rip off, i saw a good band at tap and spile last sundat though, district blues band , they was really good, they are playing at the sun inn in beberly soon, you should go to see them if you can, anyway there is a new session in hull on wensday, it was mandolin malcoms idea, its a beginers session, like sir rogers one in beberley on tuesdays, its at the tap ond spile on sprung bank, hull om wensday at about 9pm, itsa behginiers session, so if youre really good at music and like showing off, then dont bother to go, the people going is=mandolin malcolm, maria with the guitar 9she got her hare cut really short now)!, nick and theresa, and john with the guitar, 9old bloke with the beard), and some other people might go as well like yusef and karl etc, anyone can go, but dont forget its a beginers session, so dont showing off, and its traditional folk music as well , so no oasis stuff etc.johnn

Linda was in the corner, and sang beautifully with Hazel. No distractions from breaking pint pots this time, either! :0)

Good to meet you (twice!), Karen and Colin. I wondered if you knew about this place.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Pete and all, and I'll try not to cough over you next time!

xx
(I believe Cara are headlining at the Sun on the evening of the 19th Jan- will there be a session beforehand?)

That's right Mr Meister. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, we thoroughly enjoyed it. What a brilliant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. A cracking pub (Colin enjoyed many mystical moments with the Caledonia) good company & good music. Was it Linda that did that brilliant rendition of Carrickfergus ?

I don't think Deanie bouy that two (or at most three) guitarists with totaly different styles constitutes six unless........................... you drunken bugger stay off the drink till your eyesight returns to binocular!

dont forget that people that liked Caren & Colin can buy there CD, I have bought it and it is really nice, it is 10 pounds and really worth it. you can send them an email , i think it is Karen&colin@btinternet.co.uk, but i'm not sure, or just buy it when you see them in the pub.john

Heloo, it was really nice, and loads of good music etc and sousage and chips, and some more people was there as well like Harpmaker and Mrs Harpmaker and her sister, and Phil and Merry and Karl etc.
smallpipes is exactly right about The Sloop, I have been a few times, and i went last week and it was really nice, there was loads of really good music and singing people there, and there was some pizzas there as well.i have never been to the giben voice place yet, but i might go soon if the wether is not to cold to walk, i saw Les yesterday and he said it is really nice there, it is only a pound to get in, and a pound is not much, and i think they have a raffle where you can win stuff, but i'm not sure really.john

Perhaps I will be slooping meself one of these days. (I won't bring a guitar)

More people should have hung around for the excellent Hall Brothers at the Sun on the evening. You missed an fine act. Perhaps we'll see them at the People's Voice - they seemed interested.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Many thanks to all who attended the inaugural session of 2003. It was great to see such a good turn out. This bodes well for the continuation of the session this year. That was in fact the 53rd session. Wehey!

Many thanks to Bassic, Smallpiper, Willa, Nik Nak, Ossonflags, Les from Hull, Maggie, Linda Kelly, Hazel, Noreen (lovely to see you again despite ill health!), Oakley, Sir Roger de Beverley, the absolutely fantastic Colin and Karen (who made my day...hope you come again guys!),Flamenco Ted, his charming daughter Sophia, Andy Watson, Eric and Colin, John Yeaman...the list is endless, if I've missed anybody, humble apologies (I'm trying to picture the room to remember who was there..!)

Also thanks to Steve and Elaine for allowing us to over-run their delightful establishment for a whole day every month, and to Roger who works hard to keep live music alive in the Beverley area.

Keep music live, chaps. See you all next month, if not before. Must try to get over the Bridge to Goxhill or Barton more this year.

Once again, Many thanks!

Pete the Meister.
