Subject: Lyr Req: Kate Hankey hymns - underlying poem From: Haruo Date: 20 Jan 03 - 02:22 AM There are two hymns written in the 1860s by Kate Hankey (Arabella Katherine Hankey, actually); they are extracted from a long poem (in two parts) of hers about the life of Christ, the first part entitled "The Story Wanted" and the second "The Story Told". I've not been able to locate the poem(s), and would be most grateful if anyone could point me in their direction. The closest I've come is The Old, Old Story, and I'm sure Mr. Lawson would be as grateful as I, or more so, for a copy of the complete Hankey text. The hymns in question are Tell Me the Old, Old Story and I Love to Tell the Story (The Cyber Hymnal links). Haruo |
