All I'll add to the chords above is when 2 C chords happen in a row, the second time the bass note moves up to E for a C/E chord (more classically known as a first inversion of a C major)

For what it’s worth, I do have some sheet music that includes a melody line and chord sequence for the piano part, as follows:
CCFFCCFF
CCFFBb9Bb9CC x2
AmDmGCAmDGG
CCFFCCFFBb9Bb9CC.

So, almost identical.

This thread has languished for twenty-one years without further answers.
I don't have the sheet music, perhaps someone else has it.
Until the day when someone with the sheet music contributes to this thread,
I offer this effort:

C C F F C C F F Bb7 Bb7 C C
Am7 Dm G7 C Am D G G
C C F F C C F F Bb7 Bb7 C C

Can you find a MIDI file of it anywhere? If so, my program MIDI Chords can tell you what chords are being played.

It is not shareware though, but only costs 13 UK pounds from MIDI file supplier HANDS-ON Midi Software.

Well that's a start, Richie, thanks. But there's more to it than that; it goes to Am, I think...

I may just have to buy the album after all these years!

Cheers,
Michael

This is strickly from my head without any music but I should be able to hear it for you:

C C F F C C F F Bb Bb

That's it- just repeat... hope it's in the right key.

Thanks Joe. I had found those four tabs, but they don't include the second part.

I don't have the "Layla" album; is it possible that they gave that part a separate title?

Cheers,
Michael

Hi, Michael - you'll find four versions of the tab at OLGA.net, the online guitar archive.
Any of those work?
I also came across this site, which may interest you:

I've been looking for chords to the second part of the Derek & the Dominoes recording -- the long, majestic instrumental section that's mostly piano and guitar -- but all I can find on the web is the song itself (the first part).

I know it's not folk, and kinda not really blues, but I'd be very happy if someone could point me toward the chords.

Cheers,
Michael
