Subject: RE: FSGW Mini-Fest Severe Weather Plan From: GutBucketeer Date: 15 Feb 03 - 12:17 AM ARGHH! I missed Jed Marum's concert tonight ('cause of a little 'ol thing like Valentine's Day) on the promise that the rest of the weekend was dedicated to the Mini-Fest and Folk Music. First time I can make it without a conflict with the Cub Scouts in 4 years. Can't we just meet someplace and take it over. How about invading Citi-Place in Silver Spring, the Takama Park City Hall, or Union Station! Do you think if everyone started jamming in Union Station that they would kick us out? It's not England so we don't have to worry about the PELs.:-) JAB |

Subject: RE: FSGW Mini-Fest Severe Weather Plan From: karen k Date: 15 Feb 03 - 12:15 AM I'm really sorry you guys. I know how much work went into planning it. Well, hunker down, stay warm and sing alot and then get out the shovels. We've had about 52 inches of snow here in CT so far so I can relate. At least Monday is a holiday. |

Subject: RE: FSGW Mini-Fest Severe Weather Plan From: SINSULL Date: 14 Feb 03 - 05:53 PM Maybe not all bad, Kathy if Jed Marum gets snowed in with you all. That will make up for a lot. Have him sing his "Maggie". |

Subject: RE: FSGW Mini-Fest Severe Weather Plan From: KathWestra Date: 14 Feb 03 - 05:02 PM We are, indeed, S.O.L. (Chance, you didn't grovel adequately!) Montgomery County has, indeed, cancelled all weekend activities at school facilities. The forecast looks direr and direr. They're now predicting 18 inches of snow by the end of Sunday, which should be more than enough to paralyze this place for the foreseeable future! I'm about to change the FSGW hotline message to reflect the bad news. The website has already been changed. I'll second Judy's :-( Kathy |

Subject: RE: FSGW Mini-Fest Severe Weather Plan From: momnopp Date: 14 Feb 03 - 04:16 PM Bad news, folks -- the Montgomery County Public School system has CANCELLED all public use of school facilities for both Saturday and Sunday. That means (as far as I know) there there cannot be a minifest. it says so here I'll double check, but as far as I know we're officially S.O.L. :-( |

Subject: RE: FSGW Mini-Fest Severe Weather Plan From: GUEST,Nancy King at work Date: 14 Feb 03 - 02:50 PM Thanks, Kathy -- I'd been wondering how we were to learn our fate, Mini-Fest-wise. Chance, I plan to be at the house concert tonight; we should perhaps have a group weather obeisance. Strength in numbers and all that... Cheers and good weather thoughts, Nancy |

Subject: FSGW Mini-Fest Severe Weather Plan From: KathWestra Date: 14 Feb 03 - 12:53 PM Okay, the FSGW Mini-Fest is tomorrow, and the weather gurus are predicting all manner of ferocious winter weather. We (FSGW) are at the mercy of the Montgomery County Public Schools. If they decide to close their facilities for the weekend, we're out of luck. They will make that decision at 6:00 a.m. Saturday the 15th. So, before you show up, call the FSGW hotline at (202)546-2228, or check the website at www.fsgw.org. The latest info. will be both places. Do your obeisance to the weather gods and ask them to shift the storm to a northerly direction! Kathy |
