Pity it's doubled against BBC Radio 2's Nick Barraclough and Mike Harding shows. But do what I'm planning on: comandeer multiple tape decks and record the lot!

This Wednesday BBC Radio 3 devotes a whole evening - 7:30 to midnight - to "an examination of the state of English folk and traditional music" in a programme titled "A Place Called England". Contributors include Waterson:Carthy, The Oysterband, Jim Moray, Shirley Collins, John Kirkpatrick, Ian Anderson, June Tabor, EFDSS librarian Malcolm Taylor, Georgina Boyes, Reg Hall, Tony Engle, Billy Bragg, Andrew Cronshaw, Alistair Anderson and Karen Tweed.
