US economic involvement in postwar Iraq, writes
Brian Whitaker

Friday March 28, 2003
Last week, the Guardian disclosed Mr Perle's links to an
intelligence-related computer firm that stands to profit from war
with Iraq... at least 10 out of 30 members of the
Pentagon committee are executives or lobbyists with companies
that have tens of billions of dollars' worth of contracts ...

Britain's chief military officer in the Gulf, Air Marshal Brian
Burridge, yesterday attacked American moves to hand over the
running of Iraq's largest port to a company which has a history of
bad industrial relations and has faced accusations of

I don't know if the American committee system is different but usually in the UK version the Chairman doesn't have a vote on decisions, unless the vote is tied. Moving from the Chair to an ordinary board member can increase the power!

Troll, now that makes sense. After all he wouldn't want to completely cut off his supply of insider information.

Before you get too jubilant, Pearle only resigned as Chairman. He is still a member of the Defense Policy Board.

I knew you folks would be thrilled to hear the news! Rumor is he quit to start a left-wing talk show to try to unseat Rush Limbaugh as the #1 talk show host in the country! :>)

Conflict of interest was the reason he gave. He's probably just freeing up more time to concentrate on benefitting from the war he helped start.

One jackass down, the rest of the 'New American Century' signatories to go.

Richard Perle, Chairman of the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board and one of Bush's most trusted advisors has resigned. Hmmmmm? Is this rat jumping ship or being thrown overboard.

Either way, ol' Bobert is real happy to have one less guy around who designed an attack on Iraq as Phase One of Bush's quest for a New World Order.

Anyone going to miss him?

Bobert
