As I'm fond of saying every chance I get, "If it wasn't for time, we'd have to do everything all at once."

Del Close, a hero of mine, once said, "Once you get used to it, insanity can be the most normal thing in the world."

That goes double for existential entropy !!! I invented it and I'd like to make two years of that mandatory for every degree with a Philosophy major.

well...I spent a lot of today ripping out pieces of a storage room wall and hauling out bags of ruined old books, etc....did you know those little bugs will even eat Masonite? I am not surprised they ate part of the 2X4 that held it up, but, wow!...(ate some cheap paneling and door frame, too)....I am gonna clear the area and spray this week.

The computer remains a mystery. I 'think' I may have a bad graphics card, as I cannot even get the graphics driver recognized. All my data is ok, and everything works up until the time it tries to load the Windows files, then BOOM!...I see a quick message that it is trying to install a display driver, then a blue screen.

Windows 3.1 sure is slow and clunky...*grump*....poor little hamsters are complaining about "out of retirement with no warning".

did I mention I want entropy repealed?

Carol the Sailor, entrophy reversal only takes place in the magical world of the Polka Circus. Look for yourself...everyone there has reversed into their childhood!

Woahhhh...

Hey! You're right! Cooool...

Ooooohhhhhhh
Sweet Entropy of Life at last I found you
Nothing's getting done and I don't care
My crank's dragging in the mud
My drive's been driven
So I layabout in my favorite chair...

Ooooohhhhhhh
Sweet Entropy of Life this song is boring
I think I'll quit right now before it ends......
I have better things to do,
Like just resting
So.......ta' hell with this.....

And the carpenter bees are working overtime here. The land-beavers have started their usual seventh-year plague. My brain has atrophied during the winter, so maybe now that Spring has sprung, it will get back to doing some entrophying.

Termites are fighting entropy better than most of us. Turning a house into a highly organised termite colony is a step in the right direction, looked at from an objective point if view.

durned hamsters are fat and lazy and do NOT want to work, but they will run that wheel for a couple hrs a day if I put extra sunflower seeds in.

(Susan...I guess those PMs got 'em running on the same wavelength!...I was becoming a VERY good 'tire kicker', but I cant figger this one out...yet...is yours have driver trouble too? Or just 'noot booting right?)

I'm just tickled that the excellerated entropy I used to experience has slowed down, and is now starting to approach a more normal rate of entropy. I'm hoping the trend will continue, and I'll start to experience reverse entropy soon.

I understand. It snowed today . . . and there's an elusive cold water drip from the upstairs bath tub, the decks are falling (and have fallen -- we have 2 in different degrees of decay) off the house, I have a crack in a back tooth and no insurance, and my vertical hold is shot (on me, not the TV).

We probably have carpenter ants -- so why can't I get them to fix the deck and put in a floor, for pete's sake?!?

Oh, the spring run off in the cellar has mostly run off, but now we've got snow again. Maybe I should just get an aerator and put in some not-so-tropical fish.

And the 2 and a half tons of micrometeoritic dust that is attracted to the earth daily seems to come down directly over my livingroom.

Happy Spring!

Linn

Bill...take heart. I have been dealing with termite invasions inside the house for the past 23 years, my house is ALL wood, and somehow it's still standing. It does worry me a bit when they start building tunnels on the wall behind the woodstove...have visions of it suddenly just dropping thru the floor. But so far, so good (I know, said as the jumper falls past the 20th floor). And spring is a mighty cure-all for all that ails ya.

"Entropy will get ya' if ya' don't watch out......in fact, entropy will get ya' even if ya' DO watch out"

I am typing this in my old Win3.1 machine, as Win98 has finally decided to lose its display driver, and wont finish loading. (I have been coping with this for 2-3 years, and thought I had the procedure down...but....now it only boots into safe mode, so I am studying it all...I have boot disks, backups my Win98 CD...etc, but no 'time' today.

Add to that, it is spring, and we are having termite hatchings..(house is 95% cement...they are chewing on the occasional door frame and wood panel...I guess when they run out of food, I can put it all back...*weak grin*

A couple of trees are dying due to Gypsy moths and old age, I have cracks in the driveway that need filling, the baffles are gone in the water bed, the hot water heater has a plastic dip tube that is coming apart, two toilets are leaking and need some new parts, the few wood parts of the outside of the house need scraping & painting, my teeth are full of little cavities, and one needs a root canal, the van needs aligning and 'probably' 2 new tires soon, I got holes in my socks and underwear and jeans (heck...bought now ones only um.....4-5 years ago), I have 5 tape recorders with one working, 4 VCRS, with two working, 3 record players, with one working, 4 TVs, with 2 working.....and my toothbrush is about worn out..

Durn thing is, I feel good enough that I may live another 30 years,(93 woud be good, huh?)and I have to go and fight those other instances of entropy....but my brain can't decide where to start...*grin*

...but wrens are building a nest in a bicycle pouch stroed on the back porch...so...*shrug*, I guess I might as well take inspiration and go get at it.....will say more when I figger out what to do about Win98, my connection to the world!
