Subject: With serving still by Wyatt (sound poem) From: GUEST,Jim Clark..London.England Date: 12 Apr 03 - 09:03 AM Heres a version of Sir Thomas Wyatt's (1503 - 1542) great poem I've recorded this time without the amazing music of my brilliantly talented electronic composer pal Willpower....Wyatt had suffered many betrayals in his life (he had spent time imprisoned in the tower of London) and this poem is surely about good faith being betrayed....I perform this song in both my recordings (the other with Willpower can be heard at at http://groups.msn.com/acousticmusiciansandpoetssoundarchive/poetrysounds.msnw?action=get_message&mview=0&ID_Message=33&LastModified=4675387894693974499 ) in the style of gregorian chant a style of plainsong practised by the Benedictine monks since its introduction by the 11th century catholic pope Gregory.....heres the link to the page with the sound file.. With serving still (musical sound poem) Regards.. Jim Clark PS..Dont forget you can if you prefer listen to my sound poems at my Yahoo "sound poetry" web group (look in "files") heres that link http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bloozman_uk/ All rights are reserved on this sound recording/copyright/patent Jim Clark 2003 With Serving Still With serving still This I have won, For my goodwill To be undone. And for redress Of all my pain, Disdainfulness I have again. And for reward Of all my smart, Lo, thus unheard, I must depart. Wherefore all ye That after shall By fortune be, As I am, thrall, Example take What I have won, Thus for her sake To be undone. |
