I am usually in the UK for summer solstice! (well, the last three years, anyway) and have spent two of them at the Rollrights in Oxfordshire...
But not this year unfortunately! Or I'd offer to come sing with ya...

Hope it goes well; sounds fun.

I can't believe nobody wants to play and not get paid for it???? But, apparently, this is the case?

I'm in Sussex and I've been asked to try and find a band for a Summer Solstice Saturday 21 June birthday party in Oxfordshire…

Taking place at a remote pub frequented by battle reenactors, Bikers and sundry off beat personalities (probably making up the party guests too).. (In the Millenium Pub Guide of 1,000 best pubs in the UK as "Twin Peaks meets Terry Pratchett" In fact this is Pub which gave Terry Pratchett the inspiration of the Mended Drum (?) He might even come along too …

There's a budget for "entertainment". There's on-site camping available for £4 fee p.p. and that covers a free buffet/ pig roast thing on the night and anyone who wants to stay over camping until Glastonbury the next weekend is welcome to stay so long as they drink in the pub!..

The pub is pretty happy to try and also get any bands other gigs in the area + repeat bookings again at the pub.

So, if you think you are fit enough to cope with all this PM me with serious expressions of interest… Anyone in Sussex .. there's a coach going up on Saturday – returning Sunday cost £10 a head + the £4 camping fee. Also, any other Mudcatters who want to come along to this for the event are welcome. PM me too
Cheers
Hille
