Subject: RE: San Francisco area events 6/13-15? From: Desert Dancer Date: 06 Jun 03 - 12:56 AM Thanks for the info - too bad the hoot's off for June, but the anniversary party at Freight & Salvage does sound like it could be fun. Any comments on the content of the open mike at the Cafe International or the Marsh Theatre, which would be closer, at least? I wish I could stay on a bit longer for the Sunday night session -- ah, well. Chanteyranger (assuming you check in here), would we catch you on duty if we visit on Saturday or Sunday? We fly out of Oakland at 4:30, so it looks like it would be a bit tight to catch the Sunday 2 pm singing :-( and too bad we're too early for the kid thing on the 21st! (My Dan is 8.) Hubby's pretty set on spending much of Saturday at Point Reyes (which sure doesn't sound too bad!), but we should catch some of the pier scene either on the way or the way back, or Sunday before going. ~ Becky in Tucson |

Subject: RE: San Francisco area events 6/13-15? From: Dave Swan Date: 05 Jun 03 - 08:18 PM Hey Becky, It's the Freight's 35 anniversary show that Saturday, it should be good. I'm not aware of much else shaking that weekend. The weekly session at the Starry Plough is Sunday night. Some of us from OAT usually show up there. Sing all night, stay a little longer, go home Monday. I'll see what else I can stir up. PM me, who do we know in common? Dave |

Subject: San Francisco area events 6/13-15? From: Desert Dancer Date: 05 Jun 03 - 07:51 PM The family and I are getting a most-expenses-paid visit to San Francisco June 13-15, thanks to hubby's employer. What musical things might be available Friday or Saturday evening or maybe Sunday during the day that I could catch? We're staying somewhere in the city itself, may only have a car for 24 hours (Sat.-Sun.). I've checked the BACDS contra dance schedule, (looks like Berkeley Friday or Palo Alto Saturday). I've also been disappointed to see that Oak, Ash, and Thorn is playing the weekend before at the Freight and Salvage (my college-era ex-husband was a friend of theirs and got me started on a lot of English stuff that he had learned from them). Got any suggestions? Any sings? What web sites should I be checking? You can see what my tastes run to... traddy English/American/Scottish/Irish or other... ~ Becky in Tucson where it's getting to be just a tad warm lately |
