I don't have the Voices in harmony CD yet, but from the tracklist, I'll buy it.

GUEST 24 Jun 03 - 09:24 AM ,
you're mixing up two CDs: 'Voices: English Traditional songs, Fellside FECD 087' and ' Voices in Harmony: English Traditional Songs, Fellside FECD 158'.

'Cob-a-coaling' is on 'Voices', 'British man O' war' is on 'Voices in harmony'.

I completely agree, however, with your recommendation for the Voices CD.

Wolfgang

I'm pretty sure it's the Purslow set referenced by Masato above is the one sung on Voices in Harmony. And. since you asked for an opinion, I wholeheartedly recommend the CD. It's worth buying just for the Watersons' Cob a-Coaling, otherwise unreleased.

How about "I wish I were a _____(whatever)_______ on board a Man o' War" -- a young lad working his way up in wishes on board the Man o' War?

Does anyone know the lyrics to this song? And while I'm at it, does anyone have an opinion of the CD 'Voices in Harmony - English Traditional Song' that I'm thinking of ordering? Thanks.
