Hi, Hutzulka. Nigel stated it very well. The part of the FAQ that deals with posting and harvesting lyrics is here (click). Some people are in a big hurry to see their lyrics in the Digital Tradition. They seem to forget that as soon as they post lyrics at Mudcat, the song is immediately available in a searchable database. The Digital Tradtion covers a wide variety of songs, but places emphasis on traditional songs that are significantly different from the versions already in the Digital Tradition. We do have singer-songwriter and pop songs in the database, but that is not the primary focus. It also helps to have documentation, background information, source information, and a tune. You can submit tunes to me by e-mail, and I'll make sure they'll get posted.

This happens over a (long) period of time. If the lyrics are suited to the Mudcat (i.e. Folk/Blues) then the use of LYR ADD (lyrics Add) in the title line brings them to the attention of some of the helpers at Mudcat, who 'harvest' them for eventual inclusion in the DT. The time involved also allows for corrections, and (hopefully) the inclusion of a tune file and any necessary notes. A guide to the standard layout for posting songs can be found in the FAQ

When lyrics are requested and posted, how to they get to the Mudcat lyric file?

This has probably been covered in the past, but I'm sneaking this stuff in at work, and don't have time to search.

HIT THE MINIMIZE BUTTON!!:)
