The Hull Daily Mail is offering 10 of Mike's CD 'Solid Silver' as prize giveaways this week. Darren Bunting, the music column writer, mentions 'A Matter of Pride' and says 'Solid Silver features 12 of Mike's poetic and enchanting songs telling stories of modern life and my favourites are the slightly more uptempo Leaving Song and album opener Reaching Out For Love.' He's at The half Moon at Elloughton (Near Hull)on SaturdayJuly 19th.

I too thought "But he's five cans down a six pack, he's not listening anymore" was a wondeful piece of writing, but the one that set my imagination is "in this lovers search and rescue, will they find what they might keep"
I just thought of a love being in peril on the sea of life and as earch and rescue operation was a brilliant ides

I'd be grateful to have Mike's email address for the same reason, Raggytash. I've never managed to find it and Mike and I have been singing the song for about 5 years.

I'm thrilled for Mike. He's carrying the flag for all the over 55's who can play and sing at the same time without dancing! He's a consummate performer. If you've never seen him don't miss the next opportunity.
I think in every song that catches the imagination there's a line that jolts in its perfection and makes the point of the lyric in a few words;
"But he's five cans down a six pack, he's not listening any more"
I think that's it!

I emailed Mike to ask if I could use this song, I receievd a very gracious reply saying he was pleased that someone wanted to use his material. It may be polite before performing copyright to ask the composer ..............just a thought
