OK, not much later I have discovered the answer! After discovering it is not from the Aussie boy band Human Nature, but actually from Harry Connick, Jr.!

The actual title is (I Could Only) Whisper Your Name and it's on his CD entitled, "She." I'm going to go grab the lyrics hopefully from Harry's page.

Of all places, while grocery shopping (!) I heard a very catchy tune that I have been trying to ID all afternoon.
The chorus ended with presumably the title of the song, which I gathered was something like "( I ) Whisper(ed?) Her Name."
It was done in a white funk style--- almost with a Steely Dan feel.
Does anyone here in the cafe know of such a song? I would like to learn it.
