The Roger (of Rob and Roger) in Two Short Planks isn't me, so I am not plugging my own gig here. In fact I won't be there at all but in Greece.

We are looking forward to a great night with Rod and Two Short Planks on the 21st.

I am trying to put on some bigger name acts amongst the local bands which have been our main performers for the last 18 months - any (reasonable) suggestions as to who we might book?
Steve

ps

We have the Strawbs coming in January

There might well be a lot of interest in this Rog, but I have having difficulties keeping it up.

There is a lot of interest in this gig and, since the pub only holds 100 (at least that is what is says on the music licence), I would advise getting there early to ensure a place.

Roger

Lindisfarne singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Rod clements is playing the Sun Inn, Beverley on Sept. 21st.

I am green with envy of those of you who will be able to see this rare solo appearance - I'm away on holiday.

Below is some information on the gig:

From the beginnings of Lindisfarne (whose first hit single, Meet Me On The Corner, he wrote in 1970) to his current solo album Stamping Ground, the career of Rod Clements reads like a "who's who" of contemporary folk roots. Collaborations with Ralph McTell, Michael Chapman, Pentangle, Kathryn Tickell and Thea Gilmore, along with his recent emergence as an instrumentalist and singer/songwriter, have more than earned Rod Folk Roots' description of him as "a fascinating mosaic which makes a more than satisfying whole".

Audiences now have the chance to enjoy an intimate evening wth Rod performing on guitar, dobro and vocals, with the prospect of stories and songs from all stages of his career, from early Clements-penned Lindisfarne classics like Road to Kingdom Come, Train in G Major and Meet Me On The Corner to material from the highly acclaimed Stamping Ground album and beyond.
