Subject: RE: Don't Bring Lulu Chords From: GUEST,Dale Date: 09 Sep 03 - 06:01 AM Check out this page at redhotjazz.com for an RA recording from 3-30-1925 by The Little Ramblers. Maybe a third of the way down the page you'll find this mention: Don't Bring Lulu, another pop tune of the day has fine solos by Nichols (who already improvises the first chorus), Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey and King's kazoo, but it is Rollini's quiet work in the background that carries the number. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page where you'll find "Don't Bring Lulu" in the alphabetical listing of the recordings by the group. Better yet, just start at the top and read it all. Always fine listening AND reading at Red Hot Jazz. I could have linked directly to the sound file, but then look at what you'd have missed. The version I am most familiar with is that of Billy Murray. I couldn't find that one, but I'd say the Ramblers' version is equally as good. |

Subject: RE: Don't Bring Lulu Chords From: Amos Date: 08 Sep 03 - 11:39 PM Garg: It was a Twenties jazz hit parade piece -- the rhythm is similar to a Charleston. Sung in a sort of nasal Yaley voice, if you know what I mean, with a swing to it. A |

A forum search of "Pam's Favorite SongS" brings up nothing!
Prey-Tell....what are you babbling about?
Sincerely,
NICE SONG - Where is it from? (Country? State? City?) How did you come by it? When was it popular ? (DATE) Is there a lyricist? Is there a tune writer?
