Subject: RE: UK 78rpm turntable under 100 quid From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 12 Sep 03 - 06:22 PM Well, indeed it's always caveat emptor, but I'd say the Radio Times connection is quite good reason to think it's probably not a rip off. Someone give them a ring and find out how much the 78 needle costs. |

Subject: RE: UK 78rpm turntable under 100 quid From: Arbuthnot Date: 12 Sep 03 - 05:45 PM This is the cheapest solution to playing 78s that I've seen, outside of car boot sales and auctions. OTOH I'm not sure that the 78 stylus is £9.95 - it does say ring for details - I'd think the £9.95 stylus is a spare for vinyl - caveat emptor. |

Subject: UK 78rpm turntable under 100 quid From: Steve Parkes Date: 09 Sep 03 - 10:54 AM A Radio Times special offer this week is for a radio/turntable which plays at 33, 45 and 78rpm and costs £99.95, inc P&P. It has built-in speakers, and comes with an LP stylus; the 78 stylus is another £9.95. All you deckless 78ers out there take note! As regards quality, I expect you gets what you pays for ... Steve |
