I was in the studio last night. We should have the last two tracks captured - at least "dry" - by late next week and be on with the final mixing straight away. Should really only take a couple of days max but I am doing it and I have some new toys to play with! We also have the umpteenth version of the artwork in progress.

I digress, this all means it should be ready for pressing before Christmas, although we'll probably delay the launch until the New Year to avoid Christmas distractions.   There are some tasty venues in the pipeline for 2004 gigs and we will probably choose one of these for the launch.

The album is recorded "as live". You can't believe how much I've learnt about mics and mic placement! Most tracks are from sessions at Badge Studios but we'll have three or so which have been recorded "in-house" at Acoustyistics.   

As Julie's mailing list members know, we've delayed the release of this album time and time again, partly due to trying to get studio time on what might be called a tight budget. The good news is that the time when we can do everything except mastering in-house is pretty close, which will speed up Album #2.

The other good news - I hope - is that we've decided to make this album a "showcase" release, so it will have guitar & vocal tracks, guitar tunes, an unaccompanied vocal track and a little surprise thrown in for good measure!

Julie is doing a floor spot at "Millfolk" on 25th October. Guests are Last Night's Fun.

Millfolk are at Pannal Memorial Hall, Station Road, Pannal, Near Harrogate.
