Jeri, you may remember that I lived in Korea, too. I, also, became very fond of celadon. The dishes I use now for eating are all Asian greens, blue-green patterns, & pottery. Each meal is an artistic experience; I love it! I'll try to watch the 2-27 show, Guy. Thanks for the notice!

Barbara

I never thought I'd end up watching Martha Stewart because of Mudcat! I think that segment on making the vases sounds interesting too, and I'll try to watch it. I'd love to do that sort of work!

A was also amazed at your description of the vases (domes and 'Greek straight curves') and the glazing process for celadon. I love the grey-green celadon, and though I lived in Korea, never bought one piece of it!

Jeri I did play banjo on the first segment I did with her.
She has amazing taste . I told her producer before the show that I was going to suprize her with asking her to pick out a vase for a museum and pointed at the two I knew she would pick fbetween and shore enouph she picked the best for the museum. The round grey one went to San Deigo . The taller one she said looked typical Japannees went to her houes as a present from me and the big one in grey farthest on her side stayed as a prop on the TV set.
THere are two more segments conected to this coming. One is of Martha aranguing flowers in one of them and the other is of BEn, my son and me makeing the vases up state in our little barn. I think that show should be pritty interesting.
By the way Conan Obrian lives in my town and is a very funny guy. I asked him what it was like to have the cover of rolling stone Magazine and he said that for $10.00 I could get my face on a copy of Rolling stone down on Braodway. I said yay but that if I wanted to send out or "drop " 1000,000 copies that THAT might get expensive.
All the best for now , and thanks for looking in at the show, Guy

I wasn't fast enough to tape it. There was the guy showing early American porcelain, and then came Guy's segment. Guy, if it makes you feel better, I picked the pot Martha pointed out first - the black one with the more domed top. I liked the mottled brown one too. Not the one Martha grabbed but the one with the spots all over.

If it's on again, the celebrity guest was Conan O'Brien.

Guy, when is she gonna let you do a song on the show? ;-)

I've got Martha on UPN38 at the moment. (It's on channel 12 on my cable.) If Guy's on, I haven't seen him yet (I missed the first 10 minutes), but when the went to commercial break, they showed her and a guy (or Guy?) looking at different pottery. One biggun definitely looked like his work.

My local listings say the show is from 1993. Is that the one?

Dani

PS: apple-pecan pie was lovely AND yummy in my new pie plate. I use it every chance I get. Thank you very much.

I know I know this is late   but I just found out tonight .,.,.,., but I wanted to let my old friends here know I was going to be on the American TV tomorrow morning . I gave a vase to the International Mingie Museum in San Deigo and I thought it would be fun to let my friend Martha pick it out as we talked about intetion behind form. She has inpecable taste.
I hope the editors left in the good stuff. All the best to all here. Yours Guy
