Subject: RE: He/She is only 22 ...... From: George Papavgeris Date: 14 Feb 04 - 03:04 PM You're so right, Tunesmith. I'm trying to fight it, myself, but all too often (even for my own liking) I slip into what I call my "Victor Meldrew mode". Power to Kate, and Eliza, and Jim and all the young'uns, I say. Truly the future is theirs. But I don't want to let it slip out of my fingers either... |

Subject: He/She is only 22 ...... From: GUEST,Tunesmith Date: 14 Feb 04 - 02:22 PM You can tell the majority of folk music followers are middle-aged by the often repeated " He's only 23 ... " or what ever. Paul McCartney was 20 when The Beatles had their first hit ( George was 19 ) but that fact didn't seem important at the time; and there are endless other examples; Bert Jansch, for instance, was 19 or 20 when he recorded his amazing first album. No, it's only middle-age that causes such wonderment at "young" talent. |
