Deckman, it doesn't matter if you start with a low minimum bid, if these books are as good as they sound, 'Catters will fall all over each other outbidding each other and they may yet make a tidy bundle for the Mudcat! Thanks for your generosity!

Dave, You are quite correct. I'm new to this auction thing and I am getting some very valuable advice. One piece of advice caught me by surprise and it also showed me, again, the value and the thrust of MUDCAT.

The advice was to price the books as LOW as possible to make them affordable to us collectors. This went counter to my expierence in selling other items than books.

I know I could convert most of these books to some serious money for myself, and I might do with with a few high end collectors items. But, as many of these books were GIVEN to me in wills, and by other generous singers, I do feel an obligation to "pass them on." And by donating the dollars to mudcat, it helps to defray expenses of this wonderful website. CHEERS, Bob(deckman)Nelson

You don't want to put too many on the auction at one time! Tease 'em out over a period of time, and it will raise more!

I've decided it's time to clear out my bookcases. It's either that or build a second story on my house ... to house more stories! (get it? That's a pun! More stories to house more sto r i e s!!! (Oh, never mind).

Seriously, I am enjoying creaming my collection and sending certain books to certain people that I know will enjoy and make use of them. After I've done that, I will still have many books that will make a valuable addition to collectors librarys. As a payback to MAX, and the whole crew, I have decided to move these on the MUDCAT auction. I will pay the necessary postage out of the winning bid, but ALL of the remaining money I will send to MAX.

So, here's a heads up. This won't happen all at once. I'm taking my time and I am enjoying persusing these darlings for a last time. CHEERS, Bob(deckman)Nelson
