Sorry folks but I've moved to Florida - where there's even less trad Scots singing. No - I wasn't run out of Lancs, and did find a very warm welcome at the Wagon and Horses in Nelson. I had heard that since I left it has moved to the Miners Club in Burnley.

BTW, I ran into Abby Sale in Orlando yesterday (he of the 'Happy' posts) and we had a great natter!

Just to clarify, Jack,
the club in Nelson has moved to the Burnley Miners' Club, Plumb Street, guess where, same time and date and mostly same personnel. Mind you, I wouldn't really call it entirely traditional... but as you surely know you were always most welcome.

Gin, Wench 2

Jack

In Burnley, you're not far from Yorkshire.
Please let Yorkshire hear your lovely singing also.

Oops - clarification required. I simply want to find somewhere where people enjoy singing and listening to ballads and songs, regardless of where they (people or songs) come from. There is a good session along the road in Nelson on Wednesday nights which I've found already.

Jack

Here's one list of folk venues.#

I'm wondering, though, if someone went from the North West of England to, say, Glasgow ... what would you say if they asked you for somewhere they could get an evening of traditional Lancashire songs?

;-)

I've not long come down from Scotland to just outside Burnley in Lancs and would welcome suggestions as to where I would get a welcome of an evening singing Scots songs and ballads.
