Only kicking and screaming!
And yes, thanks to the Travelling Audience (no names, no pack-drill, they know who they are) - it's always good to have your support.

Gainsborough folk club meets once a fortnight on a Friday, I can never guess which one it is, not mentioned still in either Stirrings or Tykes News, presumably prefer alignment with East Midlands/Lincs
Nice little club at the Eight Jolly Brewers, and annual festival

Tee Hee, got out of it! The Memsahib slept on whilst I got up and surfed. I let her sleep until it wasn't worth setting out. Victory is sweet!

Blimey SJ, I wished I had known you were going to IKEA, you could have got some things for me. :-) Such a shame that you can't shop at IKEA on the Internet.

We will never know - Mike and I have only just surfaced and I happen to know that SJ has been dragged, kicking and screaming, to IKEA!
BTW Johnny, Margaret is not the vicar - she just works very hard to keep things going while we don't have an actual frocked one.

It rained like hell outside but we remained dry inside. It was a lovely night - excellent songs in beautiful surroundings. Thanks to Geoff & Mo for supporting us (as usual, the only two GFC members who bothered), and to the good burghers of Corringham, Lincs., who came and applauded so warmly.

Thanks and also apologies to the Vicar(ess) who endured my rendition of Wee Ralphie McTell's 'Jesus Wept' without batting an eyelid.

Just as well she didn't arrive. The place was packed.

A wierd thing happened though in the middle of Strollin Johnnies song. The window blew open and this enormously big tit landed on the top of his head. A voice said can't stop I'm on my way to Beverley, anybody know the way from hear, can't read the map.

No it isn't.
She could pop in for the night and then continue up to Beverley.
I would think an hour to get to Beverly from Gainsborough.
Can't wait to see her :-)

I have it on good authority that Avril is coming ....to the Northumbrian Pipers meeting at Nellies on Saturday 3rd of April in Beverley. Apparently, there is an extension till 12 and its only 2 quid to get in. Its not that far from Gainsborough is it?

May day May day

I have ordered the pilot to divert to Humberside, with a special police escort to whisk you to Gainsborough Folk Club.

The Pilot has been ordered to wait on the Apron until the club is finished, and you will then be whisked back to Humberside, when you will be able to continue your journey.

Tommy Sands says that he will wait for you :-)

Captain Villan speaking - Over and out.

Breezy, if you are in Scotland as it would seem from another thread, you could pop in to GFC tonight. Start 8:30. Then you would get to find out about 'A'.

Sooz you little bugger, I know who our 'Avril' is! Naughty naughty (but funny!).

Les, The Gainsborough Folk Club happens EVERY other Friday, always has, always will. If Christmas Day falls on our Friday and the Eight Jolly Brewers is closed, we'll do it in Sooz's front room (I'd offer mine but I've got joined-on neighbours with a baby!).

Are they twins?

If so they will get on well together. Maybe they can sing a duet together. "Sisters" spring to mind from the Beverly Sisters.

Just checking if the above is on. I know you are doing something on Saturday and wasn't sure if Friday was on.

Is it a singalong or do you have a guest if it is on.
