Amos the pleasure was all mine !. THanks for keeping me company !! We did have so much fun ! I even met some very wet kids who had been surfing two blocks over !!! What fun what fun.
If I knew I would spend a day and a half in Ohair truing to get home I would have hooked up with any Chicago Catters . They over booked my flight and there wasnt anything else out of Chicago till the next evening at 9:50. Ouch . I did get one of those fly anywhere in the USA things so thants great. Dont try to go to Hartford at the end of spring break . To many schools !!!!
Thanks Barbarah and Allison for the very kind words . I do find I love every Mudcat person I have had the luck to meet . As always thanks Max !!

How cool is that?! I've had the pleasure of Guy's company, but not in the presence of his potting.

How often do you get a chance to watch a real maestro at work?

Not all that often, depending on what and where.

BUt I had the chance today watching the master of modern potttery teach an admiring public about who he was and where he came from, how he did what he did and why it was important, where it came from and what it meant while dexterously demonstratintg the finest throwing skills I have ever seen.

Not only that, but for two breaks of about 40 minutes each, Guy Wolff and I sat down and wailed out the most amazing spontaneous bluegrass and other tunes I have played in a long while -- just wonderful interaction and reciprocal streams of rhyhm and harmony flyng through the high ceilings of the "Gardenology" site in Encinitas, CA, by the banks of the placid Pacific. They had set him up a borrowed wheel and a huge reserve of borrowed clay, and Guy just turned out the mos interesrting and beautiful potds all the day. Between times we jammed mosyt nacherly and it was a whale of a lot of fun.

Anyway we had a wonderful time blaring and harmonizing, and listening to his tales and most of all watching these magical pieces grow up underhis fingers. I cannot tellyou what a thrill it has been to spend a day this way. Guy is a wizard.

Thanks, Guy!! Catchya on the flipflop, man...

Amos
