Congrats to Steve (organiser), Chris (landlord), Stanley Accrington (guest) and everyone else there.
A wonderful first night in't new home.
Next week's guest, up-and-coming young upstart, Martin Carthy!
Singer's night the week after that (and there'll be no PA system for Singer's nights - last night confirmed it isn't neccessary!)
Week after that - Australia's Margaret Walters.

'Dekko'/'Decko' comes from the Hindi 'dekho' meaning 'look!'
Late 19thC and clearly brought back from India by British troops.
The phrase 'Have a decko' later became even shorter….
'Have a deek'
You aint been 'avin' a deek at nuff (British made) b/w war films – Standard Sunday afternoon TV matinee fodder for years on the Beeb.
Them squaddies were always having a decko under the bonnet when their engines packed in.

I have a deek most days here Breezy - message received and understood.

El G WILL be booked as I've had a discussion with th'organiser on the subject.
Will take time though, as the guests are booked way into the future, and he's a lot on:
Not least the Club move! - organising the festival for Sept - playing gigs with his various bands - playing for Morris sides and more!

Stanley Accrington (in my humble...) is ACE! WELL worth you booking.
Incredibly funny - marvellously inventive material - a delight!
Then, just as you think it's all humour, he throws in summat poignant.
I've definitely cried with laughter.. and then with a hint of sadness - all in the same Stan Acc evening. Top rate, I say!
(No, I'm not his agent! - Hardly spoken more than three sentences to him in me ol' life!)
He's always booked at Whitby Fest - all week - go see him!
He's at Saddleworth this year too - prob'ly loads more - u search?
All the best - DMcF

Otley Folk Club (West Yorkshire) had its final 'meet' in the Three Horseshoes last night (after some nine years there).
Landlord Joe is leaving (and made a heart-tugging speech) and the club now moves (round a couple of bends of the main road through the town) to the back room of Korks Wine Bar - two doors on from the Junction Inn (with an Indian Restuarant between - convenient!).
There are two car parks only half a minute's walk away (round the side of the Junction) if the roadside parking is taken.

First night in the newly revamped room is on Wednesday 26th May (starting 8.30pm) - the main guest being the wonderful Stanley Accrington, with sizeable support spots from Northern Lights and the Duncan McFarlane Band (acoustic).
We hope old friends - and new! - will make the new home their own.
