Pete Quin (with only ONE 'N' ) did Maidenhead a couple of weeks ago .
Not the loudest of voices , but a nice singer and a pretty tasty guitarist ! And a good variety of materiel .

Do you mean Pete Quin (Ragtime legend) or Peter Quinn (mainly Irish influences).

Pete Quin recently performed at
Ampthill Acoustic Club and holds www.petequin.com. Pete explained the quin - quinn confusion and requested I correct Ampthills diary entry, which I did by replacing the 'coming up' notice with a short review and link back to his site.

Hope this clears up some ancient confusion.

Pete Quin was quite excellent when I knew him. Perhaps modern guitar technology will enable him to play a bit louder. But he was okay for my small club in the 70's and I saw him at a load of other places - The Prince of wales in tamworth, The Fitters Arms in Walsall.

He had beautiful guitars - a round shouldered epiphone and a gibson as I remember. he played ragtime really well. Much better than all those guys Stefan dug up from Holland and other places. Pete's stuff never felt strained - somehow it still sounded like guitar music, not piano music played at a stretch on the guitar.

His repertoire also incuded Jim Croce and a bit of Joni Mithell, and a song of his own called tonsilitis blues - very sophisticated. i'm sure he's only got better!

there was a pete quinn from portsmouth who was a brilliant ragtime player and has got a website - not him is it - if he's back on the road break out the champagne - brilliant man

He rang me up to do some calling for a ceilidh not that long ago. Unfortunately I had another gig that night so I couldn't do it. He's also on the "return to camden town" festival website.

I would like anyone who can provide any info to do so as I've never heard of him, he played in the 70s and is coming back out again.

Anyone know anything about him?
