And of course on that same CD is their lovely rendition of John's song "Anderson's Coast", which has received international recognition. John was also delighted to hear recently that Gordon Bok has been singing it.

It has been the subject of several mudcat threads, the most recent of which is here. The song is also in the digitrad and there is a list of other threads about it at the top of that thread.

one of my favourite memories of James performing is the time John Warner (Mudcatter Jack Halyard) was in the front row with his neck out to it's fullest extent watching his every move on the bouzuki. One master watching another master.

James is a fan of John's too - John is one of the musical influences that James & Nancy refer to in "Songbirds" on their CD Steely Water.

Refresh for Sandra, freda and Fagan family fans in the UK. If you haven't seen them yet, do try to get somewhere to see them - they are excellent! The Oz invasion continues!!!

The UK seems to be the place to be for Oz folks at the moment!

James and Nancy would be pretty well known in the UK already. James plays a mean bouzouki and Nancy is amazing with her fiddle and clog dancing, and of course their voices blend beautifully. Imagine a whole family of similarly talented people with their voices blending in harmony and you have the Fagan Family. They are a real favourite here in Oz - lovely people too. Make sure you get to see them.

Bob & Margaret Fagan, their daughter Kate, son James & his partner Nancy Kerr will be in the UK June & July! Your gain is our loss.

They will be at Sidmouth Festival 4-6 Aug, and Towersey Festival 27-28 Aug, and will also be doing concerts in Cheltenham (Fri 23 July), Durham (Sat 31 July), The Red Lion Folk Club, Birmingham, Sat 21 Aug.

And some other gigs that Margaret couldn't remember!

They last toured in 1997 & if you saw them then you know they are great, & if you didn't you're in for a treat. 5 very talented individuals & together they are just fabulous.

(so nice to see Mudcat again - my dear little laptop is being fixed & I've been computer-less all this week, but I feel fine agin, now, I really do, not that I'm addicted or anything ...)
