I get an RSS feed from a site called Techdirt and a recent article talked about a startup called artistShare that takes all the middlemen out of the music distribution business and actually earns more money for the artist.

The Techdirt article in turn links to a New York Times article (NYT may require free registration) dated 04 July 2004 that talks about the significant financial advantage artistShare can provide for the artist.

I thought some folks around here might be interested.
