Subject: JASMINE S-45 From: GUEST,Allan S. Date: 12 Jul 04 - 09:02 PM I just picked up a Jasmine s-45 at a Flea Market for $7 couldn't resist it I know it is the botton of the line selling at $100 at Costco or Sam's club. the problem is the Peg head had been snapped off just behind the 1st and 6th tuners and reglued. I an not sure what glue was used.I've never seen a neck break like that as there is no other dammage to the guitar. Looking at the break one of 2 things are possible Some pieces of wood were missing and filled in with "Plastic wood" or the entire neck is made of wood pulp glued together and covered with a vinear of some kind. There is a truss rod down the neck that I can see. The back is some kind of ply wood and heaven knows what the rest of itis. I Was thinking of running 2 thin nut and bolts through the break expically if the neck is composition.and use it w/ nylon strings. Any Ideas??? I know kindling in the wood stove.. |
