It was rather fab wasn't it? So many beards... The highlights? Willa, the two little girls and "bloke" doing "north and south of the river" which has inspired me to get something steel strung at last!

ps: Note to the "hull smoking club" anyone fancy a trip back up to FarTington next wednesday? 5 seats still free, "book early"

I go to their house, with Peter the cittern, Dave the mandolin, Jim the guitar and Helen the other fiddle. Their Dad is a fab bodhran player and together, we make a lot of noise! I definitely, intend to visit Barton soon and I'll do my best to bring them all with me.

A hear, then another, from me, to all those who have written above. That sort of a session is a real rarity, combining large numbers with an excellent balance, complete unselfishness from all musicians, great tunes, great songs and great company.
I'm so pleased everyone enjoyed our 'home' session. It IS always that anarchic, it's NOT always so full. Many thanks to all who attended, I'm sure it would be superfluous of me to say you're all welcome any Tuesday, but I will do so anyway. You're all welcome any Tuesday! Look forward to seeing you again soon.
Richard, do you play fiddle with the young whistlers at a session on Fridays? If so, where?

A wonderful evening - thanks to evryone for making us feel so welcome. It was good to meet more 'catters. Special thanks to Jo for the food. Heather and Hannah are two superb young musicians and part of the Wainwright clan - mum Liz didn't bring her bagpipes along last night or we'd all have needed earplugs!

I think the Hessle/Willerby contingent will be back soon.

I had a brilliant night - definitely one of the best sessions I've ever been to. One day when I finish saving North Sea cod and get a proper job, I will get a car and visit the south bank regularly. At the moment, it is a bit far to cycle. Nevertheless, I hope to be back soon.

The young wistley flutey stars are Heather and Hannah from Hessle and I play my fiddle with them on friday nights (my claim to fame!).

Aye, there was magic afoot last night, the special stuff that we have only glimpsed twice before in the Six Bells; the first session there during Lententide 2000, and this year's Eurogathering in May.

I was bewitched by the superb musicianship of the young ladies. What are their names, so we can name-drop when they become famous? Thanks to all the singers, musicians and audience. I think we topped out at 30 bums on seats, but the room seemed to expand to admit all participants. Thanks especially to Sir jOhn for facilitating, El Ted for the concept, and Sweetfia for singing lovelyly. It was well gone midnight that the big dog what bites bad buglers finally saw us off the premises, and the biggest thanks of all go to our lovely landlady Jo for laying on all the grub, tea and coffee, and making sure everybody was comfortable in the session.

I just wobbled back home on the bike after some late night hospitality from that nice Mr Flags. Thanks to Mudcat for bringing lots of us together from 'both sides of the river', and to that nice pub and Skippy the Bush Computer Player and everyone else who turned out for the mega-session.

Go to bed jOhn, it'll be morning soon.

Great meeting you all...ElTed...Sir John....Skipjak.......sweet...wow...sweetfia......Bloke in the corner...who sat in the middle of the wall.
Now let's get serious. I was so impressed by the standard of music played and most particularly by those young girls with the flute, pipes and recorders....Were they not brilliant????
Quite some time since I last went to a good session...Tonight was great, thanks and great to meet you all
Best wishes...and Sir John...Be Blessed.
