Hi Barb'ry, thanks muchly for the info...I think I'll give Halton a try as it looks so close to Carnforth. I come to stay with friends in Swinton quite regularly, so I'll come to Preston next time I'm there if I can...promise its friendly??!!!
Cheers.

Hi
Preston Folk Club is every Friday at the Moorbrook pub - left hand side of A6 as you go towards Preston, just by B&Q. This has a mix of music and songs and is friendly too!! There is also a sort of club (bit hit and miss) in Halton on a Friday at the White Lion - 9ish. Also a mix of music and singing, depending on who (if anyone)is there. Neither of these are too far from Carnforth. Good luck
Barb'ry

You could also try putting "Lancashire Folk Clubs" in your address bar and see what comes up. Best wishes.

Would it be fair to describe your visit, Myrtle, as a Brief Encounter with the place?

Sorry Myrtle, Nothing doing. Some sessions in Lancaster but I have lived near Carnforth for 25 years and there has never been anything! Nearest club about 4 miles up the road only meets 1st & 3rd Friday of the month.
The warden in charge on Silverdale and Arnside AONB is a small pipes player. He may know of something. Contactable at offices by Silverdale railway station.

Hi, I'm heading to Carnforth Aug. 24th to 28th. Anyone know of any folk clubs meeting then...specially if they welcome singers?
