Subject: RE: Music in Carnforth? From: Myrtle Date: 19 Aug 04 - 02:40 PM Hi Barb'ry, thanks muchly for the info...I think I'll give Halton a try as it looks so close to Carnforth. I come to stay with friends in Swinton quite regularly, so I'll come to Preston next time I'm there if I can...promise its friendly??!!! Cheers. |

Subject: RE: Music in Carnforth? From: Barb'ry Date: 18 Aug 04 - 03:43 PM Hi Preston Folk Club is every Friday at the Moorbrook pub - left hand side of A6 as you go towards Preston, just by B&Q. This has a mix of music and songs and is friendly too!! There is also a sort of club (bit hit and miss) in Halton on a Friday at the White Lion - 9ish. Also a mix of music and singing, depending on who (if anyone)is there. Neither of these are too far from Carnforth. Good luck Barb'ry |

Subject: RE: Music in Carnforth? From: Menolly Date: 17 Aug 04 - 05:40 PM Sorry Myrtle, Nothing doing. Some sessions in Lancaster but I have lived near Carnforth for 25 years and there has never been anything! Nearest club about 4 miles up the road only meets 1st & 3rd Friday of the month. The warden in charge on Silverdale and Arnside AONB is a small pipes player. He may know of something. Contactable at offices by Silverdale railway station. |
