The tune was written by an outfit called Be Nice To The Pigeons. They took one of their existing songs and worked with the ad agency Wieden + Kennedy to create the finished song which Garrison Keillor sings. Incidentally, it's meant to be one of their least catchy songs, so you can imagine what the others are like!

Prarie Home Companion is fab - they play it on the radio here in Ireland around once a week. Keillor brings on wonderful traditional and folk musicians from all around the world to play on it, and the rest is comedy, with his own dry humour. You can actually apply to be a writer on it by way of his website

Tales from Lake Wobegone is on Sunday afternoons on Digital BBC7 radio... it's suspiciously like being at a Getaway but with warm feet and no possums, or so I'm told....

Can someone check out the links to the Honda site? Mine seems to be http://www.honda.co.uk/ The one Open Mike posted looks identical to me. Either my browser or Open Mikes appears to have some sort of problem and I'd hate to be linking people to 'unsafe, spurious path elements' unwittingly! I wouldn't mind doing it knowingly of course...;-)

He's the bloke wot wrote "Lake Woebegon Days" or summat. He has a few albums out of, I think, talking-singing his poetry. I love the advert but don't think I'll check out GK.

If it's the Civic Coupe ad then the tune apparently is "Ocean Man" by Ween from their album "Mollusk"

Anyone seen the new Honda advert on UK TV? Very 60's hippy style with flying disel engines, lots of colours and strange imigary but the song is wonderful!

Guitar playing in the background, not too much of a tune but the words, part of which are above, realy make me smile! Any idea who does it?
